Food and Nutrition Council

The Grenada Food and Nutrition Council (Council) was established under the People’s Law No. 32 of 1980 and amended under Act No. 5 of 2008 to perform the following duties:

  • Make recommendations for a National Food and Nutrition Policy.
  • Monitor food and nutrition programmes throughout the nation.
  • Prepare and evaluate Food and Nutrition projects.
  • Assist in the implementation of selected projects related to Food and Nutrition.
  • Assist in the establishment of food quality throughout the food chain in collaboration with responsible agencies.
  • Serve as a specialized technical resource in the field of Food and Nutrition.
